Posters Are Our Timeless Culture Attributes |
If to speak about the things that are popular entertainment
items
of nowadays then most of them would be some kind of gadget that has
something to do with digital technology, multi functioning device, that
is called i-something or alike. The masses have certainly forgotten
about the fun and joy that can be received from starring at a poster on
a bedroom's wall or ceiling, and maybe this reality is a positive
thing, but many posters shops are still in business printing all kinds
of orders of all kinds of customers, and such notion as "big poster
sale" hasn't completely lost its attracting powers. Just like good old
corn on the cob or flared jeans, wall posters are a part of our culture
and let there be a hundredth generation phone or a super smart fridge
that is capable of talking your kids into eating vegetables, lots of
people will still buy, print, frame and showcase posters for centuries
to come.
Speaking of culture, posters, or to be more exact the images posters
have, always unmistakably depicted the social values or issues and of
course the popular things or personae of the time period the posters
were created at. For example, around ninety seventies American
government was seriously concerned with the number of smokers in the
country. So right around that time a great number of anti smoking
posters could be observed pretty much in all public places. Same was
with the attitudes towards the involvement with different war
conflicts, which was clearly conveyed by means of military posters. And
of course, various movie stars and public people have always been
making their ways up on various posters during the peak of their
careers, or just in attempts to remind the audience about their more or
less talented performances.
But this is totally different, what we encounter on posters when we out
for some kind of business or entertainment and what we actually think
good enough to hang around in our own houses. The majority of
adults tend to spend money on something neutral and natural -
for
instance still art posters, animal depictions, nature landscapes, etc.
It could seem expected that customers would also be inclined to buy
certain famous paintings reproduction posters, but this type isn't
really popular or not popular at all. And the reason is very
self-explanatory - people who are artists themselves or appreciate a
good painting would better save up some money and buy an actual
painting (there are very affordable repreductions nowadays), other than
bother buying a poster of such. Anyways, posters will probably undergo
certain modern upgrades but we all love at least a certain direction in
poster making and thusly will keep this business running.
